please see images setup use. mega powered 7812 , generating pwm wave @ pin 7 (10us on time , 100us offtime) using delaymicroseconds , toggling pin. i took measurements across 7805 output arduino disconnected 7812. has 15mv p-p noise (see image, on 20mv scale). took measurements mega connected 7812 , generating pwm. 7805 output has become noisy (even @ 10 times scale of 200mv).. how avoid/suppress this. 7805 supposed power dac , noise causing issues. both regulators have output caps @ 0.1uf. cap bank @ trafo output 140kuf. if have noise need more / better decoupling , better layout circuit. are caps ceramic? have got big ones? have got caps on devices? how getting ground scope probe, might artifact. when try use arduino software serial monitor , visual studio application communicates via serial @ same time, vs says access port denied. i using pwm on pins 9, 10, , 11 control small gear motors single mosfet choppers.  that part works ok.  but depending on load 2 of motors slow down or stall (the 3rd 1 lightly loaded works fine) want add feedback.  i adding led/phototransistor hole in gear signal.  my question using timer while using pwm.  i haven't modifed frequencies (even though little higher good).  what 1 ms interrupt can count time between edges (using variables not using internal counter registers).  the bike speedometer here: http://www.instructables.com/id/arduino-timer-interrupts/?allsteps looks way  and speed/time range looks ok not sure if can use timer interrupt while using pwm.  since haven't modified timers pwm can still use 1 khz interrupt?  i need monitor 2 sensors additional variables , inputs @ each interrupt. this on uno board.
