Thread: Resolution resets to default on startup
hi,
i've got m9765uk pc hp - it's 64-bit , contains gt220 graphics card. on booting ubuntu 9.04 first time, resolution rubbish , graphics card not being used. had go proprietary driver (from ftp://download.nvidia.com/xfree86/linux-x86_64/190.32/) make use of card, , good, except... when start up, resolution resets pre-driver state, , of icons have moved about. login screen appears @ correct resolution, reason resolution changes while screen black after entering password (you can see cursor change size).
used "gksudo nvidia-settings" set correct resolution, 1920x1080, , save config xorg.conf, has no effect. ideas, please? not end of world bit annoying, , fast becoming ammunition anti-linux friends!
xorg.conf:

i don't know if answer problem i've read, 190.32 driver quirky @ best. 190.62 driver may give better results. it's not available yet regular download nvidia's website it's floating around out there somewhere. you'll have bit.
unusual problem though, resetting that. have tried other resolutions and/or refresh rates yet see if 'stick'?
