Custom UI Components

i have custom object need create instances of , add canvas in application.

the problem object contains child sprites , graphics. @ moment, object extends sprite, cannot add instances of application error #1034: type coercion failed (can't convert mx.core.iuicomponent).

can give me example of class creates instances containing child sprite graphics, added canvas?
