Thread: Want to make an application/file server accessible through a web browser

here want do: make gnu/linux cluster people can login through web browser , use desktop os (or application server). so, want make people can use linux programs installed on cluster operating system (i guess through html right?). nice feature users able save files on server or put them on local hard drive. additionally, want make user use programs , save files, not install or change themselves. point me in right direction this?

have 2 older dell computers want use test out. 1 pretty old dell 1ghz pentium iii 512mb (or 1gb don't remember) , other pentium 4 2.8ghz 512mb ram. don't know how powerful cluster of 2 be, going assume isn't going core 2 duo e6600 system.

don't have idea of start this.

have @ eyeos, think looking for.

i have laptop dead motherboard . can remove components laptop , in anyway possible connect raspberry pi inbuilt display , keyboard on laptop ? (and touchpad if possible).
