Pi 2 Bluetooth Problem - Raspberry Pi Forums

i've been trying connect pi2 via bluetooth obdii automobile bluetooth adapter.
have installed following software without errors:

before proceeding, run:
# sudo apt-get update
# sudo apt-get upgrade
# sudo apt-get autoremove
# sudo reboot

install these components using command:
# sudo apt-get install python-serial
# sudo apt-get install bluetooth bluez-utils blueman
# sudo apt-get install python-wxgtk2.8 python-wxtools wx2.8-i18n libwxgtk2.8-dev
# sudo apt-get install git-core
# sudo reboot

i'm running software version

normal raspbian boot bluetooth?

when desktop comes up, have bluetooth icon in upper right corner of screen.
blueman applet 1.22

instructions (from pyobd2) to:

6. enter login credentials , run:
# startx

7. launch bluez, bluetooth stack linux. pair + trust elm327 bluetooth adapter , connect to: spp dev. should see notification "serial port connected /dev/rfcomm0"

note: click bluetooth icon, bottom right (desktop) configure device. right click on bluetooth device bring connect to: spp dev.

8. open terminal , run:
# cd pyobd-pi
# sudo su
# python obd_gui.py


not understand instruction 7. trying me pair + trust , serial port connect.

as step 7, don't worry launching bluez, started @ boot. icon (and rest of status bar) have floated top of screen recently. click icon , should dialog pairing, trusting , connecting. if things 'grayed out', you've got bigger problems. didn't mention bluetooth dongle have pi. try
