i got wireless working yesterday (yea) , worked fine afternoon. today tried online again. in family room, have 4 bars on signal strength meter (80%) , when tried open site message "address cannot found". can't on anything. if carry computer room router meter goes 5 bars (100%) , works fine. if go family room , turn off ubuntu , open vista (4 bars again_) works fine again. 1 have problem , have comments, suggestion. surely 1 bar on signal meter not make difference. have run less 4 bars before , woked.

i had similar problem. think it's known bug or @ least known issue specific type of wifi adapters.

running folowing command may solve problem
code:
sudo iwconfig ath0 rate 5.5m
replace ath0 name of wireless adapter.

run
code:
iwconfig
to find out name, if don't know it.

i have laptop dead motherboard . can remove components laptop , in anyway possible connect raspberry pi inbuilt display , keyboard on laptop ? (and touchpad if possible).
