Thread: [curiosity] Boot time depending on number of dsks?

hi all, have simple question knows linux better me.
i'm using ubuntu jaunty 64 bit on pretty new computer, , after adding secondo 300 gb sata disk (ext4 formatted storage purpose, added fstab list) experience noticeable increase of boot time (6-7s viewing ubunto splash screen bar ).

expected normal behaviour or there wrong?

thank you!

if works correctly when boot up, don't see problem waiting few more seconds

why takes longer, know bios has detect drive, linux has detect drive , mount too, in fstab. bios may non-existant boot record on drive, increase start time.

there's more things affected, i'd stick ain't broke/don't fix
