Read from one USB serial source and write to another with a Leonardo

i use leonardo data translator, searching "leonardo serial" or various synonyms generates millions of not helpful hits.

i have device spits out data on usb serial connection (several nmea sentences weather station). unfortunately, trying hook several of these instruments low powered computer. because stations streaming data separate standard nmea sentences extraneous fields instead of sending single short custom sentence once per second, computer getting bogged down polls different serial ports , tries grab data. use leonardo read , parse sentences, picking out data want (and simple intermediate calculations), , spit desired data single sentence on other serial usb computer.

i know leo has 2 serial ports, serial which communicates on usb port , serial1 which communicates on digital pins 0 , 1.  can't seem figure out can wire usb plug +5/gnd/tx/rx , have work, or need intermediate translate? if can wire plug up, of usb pinouts i've found have +5/gnd/+data/-data. how translate leo pins?  if can't wire plug up, need? i've outlined here possible leonardo?

need connect ftdi  basic or equivalent serial1 port - rx, tx, gnd, not power, let powered device connected to.
the other device need ftdi driver installed.
