hello, transfer files computer on home network, required me go through root nautilus fileviewerbecause of permission reasons always.it's worked in past because on 8.04, i'm on 9.04 , error when trying access local home network.code:gksudo nautilus
not display "network:///". nautilus cannot handle "network" locations.
also, when try type in smb address of local computer on home network receive error:
example: type in smb://192.168.1.102
not find "/home/(username)/smb:/192.168.1.102".
please check spelling , try again.
insane, did not specify home folder. went "/" directory , received same error.
have searched through google , came similar problems no answers. 1 knows of way around this?
appreciated.
edit: "libgnomevfs2-extra" did not work, other forums stated would.
edit: didn't have "smbfs" installed. i'm downloading see if fixes it.
edit: installing smbfs didn't work.
question.
kind of files xfering 1 pc other, if need use gksudo nautilus?
why can't use normal windows exlorer thingy transfer data 1 pc 2 pc?
