Thread: Is it safe to come back yet??

i used have ubuntu installed when 8.something ... of fine- there compromises have make if u switching windows, whatever. love compiz , of eye candy. after upgraded new 9.something nothing problems... use dell , dell sucks.. know.. not use awn or compiz or anything.. forced download...fedora...sorry... have put linux on several of friends computers have noticed 9. very slow @ startup. > 7 min. slow... , internet slower on ubuntu... wondering if of these bugs been fixed yet?? need wait next version. 10.something??

must admit having similar trouble when upgraded hardy gusty, wireles.


made me cautious of going onto intrepid. again when made jump hell , horrors, returned hardy.

on christmas re did intrepid move , has worked out ok (although changes in wireless / network manager took while solve).

haven't contemplated heading on karmic of yet. i'm 6 months behind cycle, system, , can't having half working!

i've got friends @ uni aren't "linux geeky" , wait them how wonderfull new version of ubuntu before go myself - figure if works ok them, should able handle problems! of yet don't think of them using karmic.

@ least haven't gone big blue screen, i've been forced onto vista on works terminal, still have server running ubuntu... if need "geek fix" can remote log onto server it.

i have laptop dead motherboard . can remove components laptop , in anyway possible connect raspberry pi inbuilt display , keyboard on laptop ? (and touchpad if possible).
