DW changed code to xml "like"

recently upgraded cs3 mx 2004, , site seemingly working fine, when open file many of lines end if xml doc. br, meta tags , image closing tags end space , forward slash if code xlm site , it's not! plain of html. i'm overwrite local files what's on web , see if "fixes" it. ups open same issue. setting i'm not aware of somewhere?
help please!

i have laptop dead motherboard . can remove components laptop , in anyway possible connect raspberry pi inbuilt display , keyboard on laptop ? (and touchpad if possible).
