MOSFET Driver General Control/Activation
hey guys,
i'm trying control inductive load via mosfet ic driver connected arduino unit, such this:

i've never had previous experience ics had mosfets in them (mosfets -- that's matter); activation of a driver such above generally of relay, i.e. "on" or "off" dependent on 0/5v("hi"/"lo") output signal driver's input. i've read , re-read datasheet , thought it's explanation of on/off state rather cryptic.
closest lead find info on open load detection table on pg.11 has "on-state detection threshold" current value test condition of 5v vin, 8-18 vcc; mean, on state activation current-based vs. voltage based model?

the max driver's input voltage (arduino driver) based on datasheet 3v cmos (driver's input1,2). may use resistive voltage divider go 5v 3v (ie 1k8/2k7).
the status1,2 read arduino inputs, need pullup @ arduino inputs (ie 10k wired arduino's +5v). everyhing else matter of table n.12 study..
