Spry Horizontal Menu is driving me batty!

dear friends -

i'll first admit i'm utter newbie when comes both web design , dreamweaver, spry menu widgit driving me mad! want create horizontal menu that's transparent, though i've managed in design, once i've viewed uploaded page damn menu bar appears in white blue highlights.

a second frustration wanting have buttons of unequal length. can this? make on button in menu bar wider others?

here quick explanation of why cannot unequal length. spry menu created through css. creating style list (html ul & li tags). when size of menu items listed defined same because using same html tags. make top level of items different sizes, short answer yes. beginner not recommend it.

also cannot change function of menu through design view why have illusion of transparent backgrounds. of colors , styles defined in spryassets/sprymenubarhorizontal.css file. colors menu should defined. recommend reading on css tutorial have basic understanding of css is: http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp. when colors background defined, can change color (usually seen # followed letters and/or numbers) word "transparent".

i have laptop dead motherboard . can remove components laptop , in anyway possible connect raspberry pi inbuilt display , keyboard on laptop ? (and touchpad if possible).
