GPIO as a normal serial port for Wx Station? - Raspberry Pi Forums
ive started playing pi replacement full blown linux box.
i'm attempting interface weather station hardware (a old ws-2308) it. uses serial input send data back.
doesn't work on usb serial interfaces due non standard methods uses. on old linux box worked interfacing directly 9 pin rs232 port on motherboard.
i'm trying replicate pi.
i've got max2323 level converter comes female db9 on end (was hoping male!). i;ve connected vcc of pin 1 (+3.3v), pin 6 (ground), pin 8 (txd) , pin 9 (rxd) interface header.
i've edited cmdline.txt , inittab remove references ama0 console.
problem weather station comes female db9 connector , levels converter. im assuming need buy or somehow wire gender changer work?
can supply proper tutorial on how enable gpio here proper standard serial port capable of receiving input external device or how wire gender changer if needed?
