Thread: Unable to access USB devices in Virtualbox 3.0.6

hey, had accident formatting windows,and removed it, result decided go ubuntu, i've tried many times before never found decent use purely because itunes deosnt support linux, , itunes big part of life (iphones & ipods).. anyway enough of drabble.

i've got latest puel version of virtualbox (3.0.6) i've managed vista home run on it, problem i'm having getting external hard drive (where music is) enable, in devices there, has been greyed out. can me solution?

i've got same problem here. running virtual box 3.0.6 (obviously closed src version), , can't seem usb's running. when plug in usb , virtualbox running, right clicking usb icon @ bottom show list of greyed out checkboxes, each corresponding different usb devices have. also, when try mount external hdd via usb, mounts directly ubuntu jaunty distro, when focus given guest os.

here's setup :

running ubuntu jaunty (gnome)
virtual box 3.0.6 (closed src, usb supported)
win xp professional guest os (the v-pc)

i have laptop dead motherboard . can remove components laptop , in anyway possible connect raspberry pi inbuilt display , keyboard on laptop ? (and touchpad if possible).
