Spin Table for a big acrylic sculpture...?

hey guys, sorry somehow noob question after hours searching web, added more confusion confused mind!

so me , girl doing project together, she's artist creates acrylic sculptures, quite "spiky" if can so... , though project have other stuff (ultrasonic sensors, ableton live, choreographers...) i'm stuck in basic part of project, how create speed/direction controllable spin table?!

from i've read, should use stepper motor, , big easy driver or stepper motor driver shield, sculpture around 5 - 7kg , 50x50cm large , 1m tall (2/3 of average person's height) think, have no idea how can ensure motor has enough torque spin , how ensure it's stability, never used 1 before nor built this!
and besides that, advice on how built it? i'd love use acrylic well, keep theme...

any guys can provide forever thankful!  :)

first, how fast want spin ?  slower better.

although huge fan of steppers, not best choice.  great slow speeds, loose power speed increases.

second, balance.  if can spin 1 finger, can power stepper.

alas, power needed larger loads.

i have not used big easy, has more power.   if have 2 amp, 24 30v power supply have start.

a nema23 sized motor,  can deliver 2a per phase it.  , size motor used on machine tools cnc crowd.

you did not how plan spin unit.  if have main support shaft on thrust bearings handle weight.   the stepper belt driven, means need buy pulleys , belt.  lots of places sell these  bits.

the xl size belts work nema 23 stepper.  mxl small in comparison.

if driving slow, glaciallly slow, use worm gear if can cut threads.
http://bedair.org/worm/worm.html   you can make these huge have have time.  take long time make.

i assuming want continuous 360 rotation.  if never go around fully, there simpler ways.

make stand, hide motor under , great.
