PI 2 with Media center + Owncloud + NAS + Torrent - Raspberry Pi Forums

hi all

i've configured rasp pi 2, begineer, have few doubts:

have configured:
rasp pi2, connected external hdd external power, tv hdmi cable, , connected ethernet cable router.

functionalities want install/create:
- media center (openlec or osmc, kodi or similar (plex?), able control via yatse app)
- nas, automatic backup/syn other pc's on same network, , periodic backup/sync other external hdd, redundance (openmediavault or similar?)
- owncloud
- remote access through other pc's , smartphones/tablet (either on same network, or external (no-ip?))
- torrent download, remote access/control (transmission?)
- survailance system (optional, , not mandatory @ stage)

questions beginner, don't understand how create these funcionalities working simultaneously, ie, yesterday installted raspbian ann openelec, understand, these 2 distinct os's, own boots, ie, openlec serve media center (kodi), whereas raspbian serve tradicional os, allways 1 @ time. there way have funcionalities mentioned above, simultaneosly? necessary install several os's? or there 1 individual os can added funciontalites? (something synology's os, , "cousin" xpenology)


disclamer: don't have experience linux. don't mind learning bit, want solution simple possible.

i still dont have pi 99% sure thet can use 1 os
example:
vlc movies ( duno if exist pi gues thet must movie player )
transimsion (torrent)
.....
drift duno if os comes whit preinstalled stuff whatewer dont have installed istall it

i have laptop dead motherboard . can remove components laptop , in anyway possible connect raspberry pi inbuilt display , keyboard on laptop ? (and touchpad if possible). Smoothing Capacitor value?

hi everyone! i have question "smoothing capacitors". have 5v arduino project have 6 individual 5v components attached it. since need these running @ different times, wanted take similar approach of nick gammon's in helpful example (http://www.gammon.com.au/forum/?id=12106) , use few mosfets switch these little guys on & off individually (instead of regular arduino pins), while minimizing potential power surges affect microcontroller and/or components themselves. these components 5v, , have maximum draw of ~170ma when powered on @ same time. so, if used 6 different mosfet switches turn switch +5v power line on each component directed via arduino uno, wondering: 1. still use 1 capacitor (like nick did in example)? 2. capacitor of 100uf work, or should use bigger? my plan first test circuit mosfets & capacitor(s) using usb, , later on, moving project battery power. thanks in advance ideas & suggestions! quote these little guys what ...
