Thread: Run Blender without the "./" in Ubuntu
hello!
when install blender ubuntu repositoriescan run blendercode:sudo apt-get install blenderhowever, asked around irc channels , recommend against using blender repositories. besides, couldn't latest blender there. should download official site instead. have several questions resulting .tar.bz2 filecode:blender
- which (default, or best practices) directory should untar file?
- how can run blender anywhere in command line? tried setting path variable in .bashrc, editing /etc/environment file, or using export command, still can't run blender anywhere.
- this question closely related #2. somehow, despite setting path variable, still can't run blender anywhere since requires
opposed apt-get install cancode:./blendercode:blender
in advance!
