Remote fire a Canon 5d Mark II with Arduino Uno REV 3

hi,
i new things arduino , having trouble finding answer question. i've searched , read quite few sets of instructions, either don't make sense (to me) or don't apply need. trying make arduino uno rev 3 communicate canon 5d mark ii , wirelessly capture image when want to.

the entire scope of project follows. have turntable rotating, , rotates want camera able remotely fire when turntable turns particular angle. have read, think can motor (nema 34 stepper motor) turn turntable desired angle, , have camera fire, unsure type of coding sequence need, , connect arduino make camera fire. have infrared remote (canon rc-6) use remote trigger camera now, , thinking might able disassemble , somehow connect arduino, haven't found example of online. camera has infrared receiver on front of body, perhaps use infrared transmitting led?

thanks in advance help!

you can either hack canon remote, or use ir led wired arduino transmit directly, you´ll need know code should transmit, , select proper ir led.
heres info that: http://blog.arduino.cc/2010/01/29/arduino-canon-dslrs-timelapse-photography-and-video-shoot/#.uw0xxfl5oso

as turntable, if controlling stepper motor makes turn, need count steps needed complete turn, fire camera. thing how syncronize it. used work electronic roulettes, , devices used small piece of reflective material , optocoupler detect when right spot in front of sensor.
does sound you?
