DVB + DVD, possible ? - Raspberry Pi Forums

hi all,

i'm new here on forum, hi :)
i'm quite new rpi , i'm considering many call media center, that's why placed post here, feel free move if it's incorrect.

it's low power consumption , composite video output rpi2 seems nice computer connect tv, i'd it:
- attach usb-dvd drive (regular dvd, no blu-ray or hd-dvd) play dvd's
- attach kind of storage recordings (sd television recordings, no hd)
- attach 1 or 2 usb dvb-c receivers live-viewing , recording storage (again, sd television only)
since there many devices need power i'm planning use powered usb hub(s) provide that.
software gnu/linux based, i've seen openelec , think it's starting point.

questions are:
think rpi2 able handle ?
have suggestion dvb-c receiver(s) ? support dvb-t , analog nice have, dvb-c must have.
1 of concerns amount of data going through usb bus, 4 usb connectors on rpi2 connected same bus or 2 or more individual busses ?

in advance of insights provided.

the rpi's processor has single usb port. on rpi2 connected second chip contains 5 port hub. 4 of ports go external usb sockets. 5th has usb ethernet converter connected lan socket.

factor of usb stack in processor performed in software rather more usual hardware implementation.

having said that, rpi2 can want if not simultaneously.

use proper search engine find relevant posts here. "search" button on forum close useless.

i have laptop dead motherboard . can remove components laptop , in anyway possible connect raspberry pi inbuilt display , keyboard on laptop ? (and touchpad if possible).
