hi all im bit of n00b ubuntu , linux in general. can tell me if possible boot existing windows 7 partition in ubuntu using sun virtualbox ?? , if u can how there question month ago, , remember answered saying that, yes, possible. there link. it'll take me while find thread again, don't lose hope. there answer out there somewhere. using existing win install under vbox not equivalent installing purely virtual machine. should both win , virtual machine try write same file @ same time, bad things happen. that's why it's considered better idea not unless have to. thought i'd mention in case weren't aware of it. ok, have beat head against wall long enough on one; can please help? installed hardy on new machine, , trying run kile typeset dissertation. got error message "file 'pictex.sty' not found. \usepackage". found mpm *is*, in fact, installed, gave commands "sudo mpm --install=pictex" , "sudo texhash", , appeared have success. however, went typeset again , got same error message. so, deleted pictex \usepackage line, , got "file 'diagrams.sty' not found. \usepackage" error message. so, downloaded diagrams.sty. now, don't know directory install package. can please tell me directory latex .sty packages go under latex in default hardy install , why mpm , texhash not install package correctly? need work done on dissertation on new machine. and, can make answers hardy, intrepid, jaunty , other releases stickys people can identify information when need it? in advance assistance can provide. ...

hey all, suffered small downtime , had reset everything, including joomla server. anyway, i've noticed problem , cannot figure way fix it. basically is, after type in server information step 2 , hit next, next page never loads, , tables never created in mysql db. assistance appreciated. is database service running? have right location database service, localhost or remote server? if have had server outage, maybe things not running quite should.
